Jeffree Star, originally Jeffrey Lynn Steininger, was born in Orange County, California on November 15th, 1985.

After his father’s suicide when he was six-years-old, Star’s mother was left to raise him on her own and the two have a very close relationship. Inspired by his mother’s fashion and beauty magazines, Star began experimenting with his mother’s makeup at age 13 and convinced her to let him start wearing it to school.

After graduating high school, he moved to Los Angeles and began working as a makeup artist in MAC cosmetic stores.

In 2007, Star launched his music career on the social media website MySpace, posting numerous singles onto his profile. He went on to release his first and only studio album, Beauty Killer in 2009.
